Introduction to KPI Green Energy Ltd.
Established in February 2008, KPI Green Energy Limited (formerly known as K.P.I. Global Infrastructure Limited) is the renewable energy vertical of the Surat-based KP Group. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Faruk G. Patel, the company has grown from a logistics venture into a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) and Captive Power Producer (CPP) service provider.

New Major Order: The ₹4,000 Crore Gujarat Pact
In a landmark move on January 12, 2026, KPI Green Energy (the solar and hybrid arm of the KP Group) signed a massive ₹4,000 crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat.
This agreement, signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, outlines the development of approximately 855 MW of renewable energy capacity. Key highlights of this new order include:
Capacity Breakdown: A 405 MW standalone solar project, a 200 MW solar project under the Distributed Renewable Energy scheme, and 250 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid projects.
Strategic Impact: The project is expected to create over 4,000 jobs and will be executed in a phased manner across locations like Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch.
Government Support: The Gujarat government will facilitate necessary permissions and clearances to ensure timely execution.

Previous Major Orders and Project Highlights
KPI Green Energy’s growth is backed by a track record of high-value contracts from both government and private sectors. Here is a brief look at their significant previous orders:
1. International Expansion: The Botswana Project (Dec 2025)
Just a month prior to the Gujarat deal, the company signed a monumental $4 billion (approx. ₹36,000 crore) MoU with the Government of Botswana. This project aims to add 5 GW of renewable capacity to Botswana’s national grid, marking KPI Green’s aggressive entry into the global market.
2. Floating Solar Milestone (Dec 2025)
The company secured a ₹489 crore contract from the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) for a 142 MW DC floating solar project at the Kadana Dam. This project highlights their expertise in specialized solar technologies beyond traditional ground-mounted plants.
3. Green Hydrogen Entry (Dec 2025)
Marking its foray into the “fuel of the future,” KPI Green bagged a ₹128 crore order from NTPC to set up a green hydrogen generation project using plasma gasification technology in Greater Noida.
4. Utility-Scale Contracts (H2 2025)
SJVN Order: A ₹696.5 crore EPC contract for a 200 MW solar project in Khavda.
Coal India Contract: A major ₹1,311.40 crore project for a 300 MW solar plant.
GUVNL PPA: Secured a long-term agreement for 1.2 GW of installation capacity with the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited.

Client / Entity Project Value (Approx.) Capacity/Type
Jan 2026 Govt. of Gujarat ₹4,000 Crore 855 MW Solar/Hybrid
Dec 2025 Govt. of Botswana ₹36,000 Crore 5 GW RE Park
Dec 2025 GSECL (Floating Solar) ₹489 Crore 142 MW DC
